About
My name is Chris Sackey. I am a Dramatherapist, Holistic Confidence Coach, and drama tutor. I am HCPC-registered and trained at some of the most respected institutions in performing arts and in within the arts therapy sector.
But before that journey started, I was a reserved teenager who found his voice through the stage and performance. The care of my teachers and peers at secondary school led me to the BRIT School of Performing Arts and Technology. This changed something in me and gave me tools I didn't know I needed and a belief in what I could become. That experience never left me. It's quietly present in everything I do now.
From there I trained at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Los Angeles, worked across theatre, film, and television, and began guiding others toward their own confidence and self-expression. I then pursued a Master's in Drama and Movement Therapy at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, deepening my understanding of how creative practice supports emotional and cognitive development. Today I work as a Dramatherapist in schools and productions, lead wellbeing workshops, and work as a Holistic Confidence Coach in private practice, increasingly alongside performers and creative professionals navigating the particular demands of the industry.
What connects all of it is a belief in the power of authentic self-expression and a commitment to creating spaces where people feel genuinely held while they find it.
About Chris
The name Abiba is my grandmother's name. She is one of my greatest heroes, and when I created this practice I knew I wanted it to carry her with it, to keep her legacy and allow others to feel the energy so many others felt. In Arabic, and in-particular African countries, Abiba means "the beloved one", the dearly loved. That meaning sits at the heart of everything here. Whatever brings someone through the door, I want them to feel exactly that: beloved, supported, and held.
My approach is holistic and client-centred, focused not just on skill-building but on genuine self-connection. I work with the whole person: your voice, your body, your inner world, and the way you move through the spaces that matter most to you. Through grounding, mindfulness, and embodied practice, the aim is always the same, to help you communicate with presence, authenticity, and alignment, whether you're on stage, in a rehearsal room, in the boardroom, or facing one of life's important moments.
